Building a Tower

Principal's Welcome

If you walk around the campus at Healdsburg Junior High you will feel the positive energy generated by students and staff who enjoy being here and make every effort to make HJH The Best Place for Kids

Healdsburg Junior High has been here for years, first in a wonderful old building as Healdsburg High School and then as the Junior High.  In 1975 the old building was replaced by our current facility in an effort to make us earthquake safe. We have had as many as 800 students and as few as 400, but no matter the size, the spirit of HJH has always been focused on what is best for our students.   In 2006, we added 6th graders to our school and we are reaping the benefits of a larger student body and students who attend for three years and are committed to being involved in their school.  Over the years our student population has changed as our community changes and is fairly representative of Healdsburg demographics.  This year we have 450 students in grades 6-8.  Every student is known well by at least one adult, often more, and every effort is made to connect students to our school and build academic and social success.  We continue to improve in our efforts to provide support for those students who are in need while challenging all of our students to perform and produce work at their highest levels. In fact, we recently earned the honor of becoming a California Distinguished School!

Healdsburg has that wonderful small town feel and the community is closely involved in the schools.   HJH enjoys outstanding support from our community. Parents are invited in to work with our staff so that they are closely involved with their child’s education.  Community groups and members contribute time, energy and funding to support our academic and extra-curricular programs.

About Us:

1. HJH is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and supportive environment where all members of the school community respect one another.

2. HJH is committed to high levels of academic achievement for all students based on and measured by state standards.

3. HJH is committed to increasing parent and community involvement in support of student learning and school activities.
